Long Beach City College’s Transfer Academy provides students an opportunity to fast track their transfer to a four-year university/college. Students will have access to a number of campus resources to ensure student success and facilitate a smooth transfer process. Through their engagement with the program, faculty and staff, Transfer Academy participants will utilize the knowledge and skills to ensure their success at Long Beach City College and fast track their transfer to the college/university of their choice.
As part of the Transfer Academy you will receive the following benefits:
- Personalized updates on transfer activities – be the first to receive updates from colleges/universities that you are interested in and be in the loop on LBCC Transfer Services events.
- Transfer agreements with partner institutions – your Counselor will set you up with an educational plan to secure your transfer to the college/university of your choice.
- Academic, Personal & Career Counseling – through your participation in the Transfer Academy, you’ll have your own Counselor assisting you through the transfer process.
- Financial Aid and Scholarship Assistance – attend workshops to learn about applying for financial aid and find out how to apply for the hundreds of scholarships just for LBCC students.
- Transfer Workshops – attend our monthly workshops by LBCC and partner college/universities.
- Priority registration for college/university tours – be the first to know and the first to register.
- Assistance with application process – receive personalized counseling in preparing your application for admission or visit our “Panic Room” for those last minute application assistance.
- University Representative Appointments – visit one-on-one with the college/university representatives to learn all about your prospective transfer institution.
- Receive personalized mentoring and support – via your participation in the Transfer Academy, you’ll make a host of contacts with faculty and staff to support your successful transfer.
- Recognition on transcript or resume – add the Transfer Academy to your list of extracurricular activities on your resume, application or scholarship essay.
- Participate in Transfer Recognition Reception – bring your family to the celebration in your honor!
- Make new friends and networks!
